What is a Block?
A block (sometimes referred to as a ‘sloper’) is the most basic shape to cover the body. It is important to distinguish that a block is not a pattern. While a pattern has seam allowance and design lines, a block does not. A block is used as a foundation to create a pattern. Using your own direct measurements it is precisely calculated to act a a base for all of our future patterns.
*Please note that this guide requires you to have already completed the bodice block and have it on hand to complete the sleeve block. You can purchase them together in our Basic Shirt Duo if you don't already have the bodice block.
